Progressive Engineering Company
Progressive has two ion nitriding ovens to serve you. Chamber capacity 5,000 lbs., working dimensions (space), 60" x 60" x 60". Case depth: Normal depth 0.010" to 0.015", range of depth 0.0005" x 0.030". Our salespersons will be glad to help you and your engineers with processing data and to provide a quote. Call or email for information / pricing quote sales@pecgears.com. Ion Nitriding is the most practical and economical way to produce long, hard wearing, non-porous surfaces (parts can be harder than chrome and less porous) with deep resistive and diffused case treatment. Nitriding can be applied to a broad
range of Ferrous Alloys The "glow discharge" phenomenon conforms to the most complex and intricate geometries, however, simple masking will retain unhardened areas without costly copper plated masks. Ion Nitriding's advanced hardening technique imparts superior quality, durability and wear resistance to critical wear parts. The economical way to build performance enhancement into your product for greater total value. Features that give "ion nitriding" superior performance: Ion nitriding chemically bonds with alloys in metal (chrome moly, vanadium, etc.) to form nitride precipitates and a diffused case - This allows the compound surface layer to be uniquely formed by controlling the gas composition in the vessel. The compound layer is selected to match the alloy, prior to heat treatment and application (applied at 100% Gamma Prime, 100% Epsilon, or if desired, no white layer at all).
